BGMI (PUBG)

Battlegrounds Mobile India, commonly referred to as BGMI, appears to have recently become available on the Google Play Store for Android smartphones, nearly 10 months after it was banned in the country. Although the game's dedicated page is now visible on the Play Store.
To access the page, users can either search for the game through Google Search or visit BGMI's official website and click on the designated Play button. This will redirect them to the download page, where they can acquire the game free of charge.

According to an official statement issued by KRAFTON, the current status of the closed test track for BGMI has been updated. Individuals who had previously registered for the public test of the game prior to its official launch should expect to receive a notification guiding them to the Play Store for the purpose of downloading the game. However, it should be noted that the provided link will not be operational, resulting in the inability to download the game due to server shutdown. It has come to our attention that some other users, who did not participate in the closed test, are also encountering this message. This occurrence is attributed to a technical error, which our team is actively working towards resolving.

Although gamers may find it relatively easy to download the game, they are likely to encounter difficulties with the server becoming accessible online.
Last week, KRAFTON made an announcement regarding the lifting of the ban on BGMI, the Battle Royale first-person shooter that had been banned in India in July 2022 due to security concerns.

Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON, Inc. India, expressed gratitude towards the Indian authorities for granting them permission to resume the operations of BGMI. He conveyed his appreciation to the Indian gaming community for their unwavering support and patience during the preceding months. Sohn also conveyed his enthusiasm for welcoming players back to the platform, highlighting the positive influence of gaming in fostering connectivity among individuals.

Reiterating KRAFTON's dedication to the Indian gaming ecosystem, Sohn affirmed that their approach has always been centered around India. They have made investments in the Indian gaming industry, fostered collaborations with local developers, and actively promoted the implementation of cutting-edge technologies to drive growth and innovation.

Vibhor Kukreti, Head of Government Affairs at KRAFTON, Inc. India, expressed gratitude to the authorities for granting permission to restart BGMI operations. KRAFTON, Inc. is a responsible South Korean organization that upholds legal compliance and has taken measures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Their objective is to support, sustain, and nurture the development of the gaming ecosystem in India.

Presently, in India, there exist two official methods for downloading BGMI. Users have the option to either download the application and sideload it onto their Android smartphone or tablet, or they can directly install the game from the Google Play Store, which is the recommended approach. The game has an approximate size of 756 MB, and when considering all the in-game content, BGMI could occupy more than 3 GB of storage space on the user's device.
